ZeniMax Media Acquires id Software

Posted on 25 June 2009 by Papa Diaper

Zenimax
As of yesterday, Quake, Doom and Wolfenstein 3D are part of ZeniMax media, parent company of Bethesda Softworks. While id Software will become a part of ZeniMax, the developer will retain a certain amount of autonomy. ZeniMax confirmed that id founder John Carmack will continue serving as id’s technical director, with no changes to be made in the company’s day-to-day operations or development process. Additionally, ZeniMax noted that “all the principals at id Software have signed long-term employment contracts.” What this means is that Id Software will continue to work just like before, but will receive financial aid, and better publishing. More details can be read on GameSpot.

The King of Fighters XII Delayed

Posted on 25 June 2009 by Papa Diaper

King of Fighters 12
In a recent press release, Japanese company, SNK, announced that their multi-platform fighter “The King of Fighters XII”, which was originally schedule to release on the 16th, July, will suffer some minor drawback, the release date being moved to a vague “July Release”. The reason behind this is that SNK wants to “improve the title”. Well, there’s an old saying in my country: “You can never get the pig to gain weight on Christmas Eve”. Let’s just hope that SNK has a “magical formula” prepared, and that “KoF XII” will prove to be a more than enjoyable feast.
You can read more about KoF here.
